Beauty Picks and Tricks // The Organic Skin Co. (Fall Edition)

OMGHS ya’ll: I have found my favorite fall make-up picks, all thanks to The Organic Skin Co!

I discovered this brand last year and was so impressed with the quality of the products. The thing I noticed the most was how pigmented their make-up was! (even wrote an intro post of their products here)

I’ve been on this slow journey of replacing some of my favorite make-up products with healthier products from brands that ensure quality products so that they help my skin be the best it can be. Even though I’ve been able to try many vegan and cruelty-free products in the last year, I always come back to the Organic Skin Co.

Aside from feeling good knowing their products are safer, their products have beautiful pops of color and are long lasting so I don’t have to worry so much about touching up throughout the day.

If you’re new to the brand, below are a few stand-out details about them:

  • Ethics is what drives the company.

  • They care about what ingredients are used in their lines to make sure the consumer receives high quality natural skin care and beauty products. TOSC makes sure all the oils used in their products have been super-critically extracted, meaning oils are extracted from plants in cleanest, purest ways and forms.

  • They are BioGro approved, which guarantees that the brand uses at least 70% of organic ingredients in their products.

  • They care about animals and their products have never been tested on animals.

  • Their products are vegan and gluten-free. Certified by the UK Vegan Society, anyone who buys their products can rest on the fact that the brand has created all vegan products.

In my fall product haul, I received…

For today’s post, I’d like to solely highlight the make-up products (the luminizer, the cheeky lips, and the lip service). Check out my thoughts about each product below, along with some pics of my final fall look!

In the Spotlight in Rose Gold

I have this product in both colors “Lunar” and “Rose Gold” and I think I love the “Rose Gold” best. For application, I use my fingers as it gives me better control of how much luminous shine to add. Versus the “Lunar” luminizer (which is more white in color), this product has a hint of pink to it and gives off the prettiest shimmer. I love it!

Lip Service in Spice Bazaar

“Spice Bazaar” is probably my favorite shade of lipstick from the Lip Service collection. Aside from being made with calendula and rosemary oils, the lipstick goes on smoothly and has the consistency of a colored lip balm! With other lipstick brands, it starts to create build up on my lips when layering it on. This product doesn’t do that for me, so I can keep applying until my desired bright color is achieved.

One thing I want to point out is that although I mentioned the products for this brand are long lasting, this is probably the only product that I do have to reapply throughout the day.

Cheeky Lips in Desert Storm

I’ve used orange blush before, and it just made my skin look tan. Using Organic Skin Co.’s Cheeky Lips in “Desert Storm” gave me the bold orange flush I was looking for. I love how buildable the product is and how smoothly it goes on! To apply, I take my pointer and middle finger, swirl them lightly onto the product, and gently tap it onto my cheeks until the color is spread evenly. I have this product in the color “Petal Power”, but I love it more in “Desert Storm”, especially for the fall season!

To achieve this look I used my personal make-up along with all of the following products listed above:

  • I layered Cheeky Lips onto my cheeks to give my face a bold orange flush

  • Once I achieved the right amount of blush color, I tapped on my In the Spotlight Luminizer onto my cheek bones, and the bridge of my nose to give my face some sparkle!

  • Lastly, I lined my lips with an orange lip liner from my own personal make-up stash and put on two coats of the Lip Service.

Another Organic Skin Co. product I used was The Eyes Have It cream shadow in the color “Highlights”. I added it on top of my powder shadow and into the the inner corners of my eyes.
